Críticas 'The Dark Days Club was one of my favourite books I read last year.' * sophiereadsya.blogspot.co.uk * The Dark Days Club was a great mix of fantasy, history and romance with classic YA heroes and heroines and I would definitely recommend it to fans of The Infernal Devices or The Diviners series where the fantasy element and the rich historical background blend together really well. I would probably recommend this for the beautiful detail of Regency London alone and think anyone even vaguely interested in the era would find it enjoyable! * Bookish at Heart * It's refreshing to see a character like Helen: not a 21st century heroine effortlessly transcending the oppressive 19th century setting, but a normal girl who resists the temptation of this dangerous path. Helen's torn between her desire for a proper future and her fascination with her strange abilities, and it's in those moments of doubt when her courage and reason shine through the most. Lucky for us, this fantastic introduction leaves us hungry for more. * Entertainment Weekly * It's a simple concept, of course, and one that's hardly original, but what makes this a success is that it's written in such a wholeheartedly convincing style: the research into London in 1812 is impeccable, from the Pride and Prejudice-echoing dances to the politics of the day. The prose is as witty as Elizabeth Bennet herself and the whole book is a joy from start to finish. We'll be hearing more from Lady Helen - thank the lud. * SFX Magazine * This is a compelling read, combining a richly detailed Regency London setting with a shadowy world of demons and violence. -- Reader Review * Love Reading 4 Kids * I really loved this book! The best part was the ending, and I can't wait until the next book is released. -- Reader Review * Love Reading 4 Kids * The Dark Days Club was modern and classic all at the same time and I loved it! It was a whole new world of excitement, twists and turns, that I never saw coming. -- Reader Review * Love Reading 4 Kids * The Dark Days Club is beautifully written, absolutely captivating and left me wanting more. -- Reader Review * Love Reading 4 Kids * In a delicious collision of Regency romance and dark fantasy, Goodman (Eona) tells the story of Lady Helen Wrexhall, a wealthy 18-year-old orphan on the eve of coming out at the court of King George III [...] Lady Helen is a well-drawn heroine, and her struggle to free herself from the stilted life of an early-19th-century noblewoman and embrace her wilder, darker self is powerfully delineated. * Publishers Weekly * This is great fun: vivid Regency drama with a demonic supernatural twist. * The Bookseller * Reseña del editor The first book in the dark and compelling Lady Helen trilogy, set during the Regency period, will appeal to teenagers and adults alike. London during the Season is a whirl of balls, dinners and promenades – and, for a select few, the relentless battle against demons.Jane Austen's high society and Cassandra Clare's supernatural underworld collide in the first book in the Lady Helen trilogy, perfect for fans of historical fiction and fantasy. London, April 1812. Lady Helen Wrexhall is set to make her curtsey to Queen Charlotte and step into polite Regency Society. Unbeknownst to Helen, that step will also take her from the glittering ballroom of Almack's and the bright lights of Vauxhall Gardens into a shadowy world of demonic creatures, missing housemaids and deadly power. Standing between those two worlds is Lord Carlston, a man of dubious reputation and infuriating manners. He believes Helen is destined to protect humanity, but all he can offer is danger, savagery and the possibility of madness. Not the kind of destiny suitable for a young lady in her first London Season. This delightfully dangerous adventure of self-discovery and difficult choices has all the unnerving dark magic of Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell and the swashbuckling action of The Scarlet Pimpernel.
